Last 21st September, the director of the Foundation, the guitarist José Luis Ruiz del Puerto, gave a great concert of voice and guitar together with the splendid soprano Júlia Farrés-LLongueras.
The concert was part of the Pepe Romero Guitar Festival in Malaga, which annually pays tribute to this great guitar virtuoso who received the International Guitar Excellence Award from our Foundation in 2023.
Among other works, songs by Joaquín Rodrigo (International Guitar Excellence Award in 2024) and Lorenzo Palomo were performed.
Lorenzo Palomo, a prestigious composer and dear friend of the Foundation who recently passed away, was President of the CIGA Jury in 2022.
For that edition of the CIGA, we had the pleasure of commissioning a work from him: El manantial, which was premiered in the Competition and published in the Alhambra Collection of Contemporary Spanish Music that we promote.
It was a very special musical evening that brought together great artists of the ‘Alhambra family’.
